Here is what our CSA customers can expect to find.  Some items may only be available for full-share customers.  You may notice that we don't always have this page updated in the most timely manner; if this week isn't listed yet, then it is probably pretty similar to last week.

From Norman:  Scapes are part of the garlic plant.  There are plenty of recipes for scape pesto on the Internet, which are not much different than basil pesto recipes.  Throw some scapes into your food processor.  Add some pine nuts and/or Parmesan (Parmigiano-Reggiano, if you want to be fussy about it) if you like, a bit of salt and pepper, a little lemon juice, and pulse to chop up.  Then run the food processor and add olive oil until you like the consistency.  About 10 scapes to around 1/3-1/2 cup olive oil makes plenty (probably more than necessary) for a pound of pasta.  To be honest, we find this pesto to be pretty strong---you should really like garlic!  We added a bit of fresh parsley to cut down the garlic level a bit.

Jennifer's observation: we had some tonight and found it pretty tasty! You do not need 10 scapes! We now have quite a large amount of scape pesto to last us awhile, so the fact that you did not get as much as 10 scapes this week  should not be a problem.
